Aida (Original Broadway Cast Recording)

Aida is based on Verdi's opera, which was, in turn based on a story by Auguste Mariette. The music is written by Elton John and Tim Rice. Prior to this recording, there was a concept album featuring stars like Elton John, LeAnn Rimes, Shania Twain, Janet Jackson, among others. Currently, Aida is being developed by Disney for a 2010 release, with megastars like Beyonce & Christina Aguilera in talks to stars as Aida and Amneris.

Mary Poppins' debut at London's West End was in December 2004, and is currently one of the popular shows at West End. On Broadway, the show debut in November 2006. The production utilised the music from the award-winning film and several new songs were added to the already popular repertoire.

The Little Mermaid (Original Broadway Cast Recording)

hans christian andersen's the little mermaid is one of my favourite fairy tales and the disney feature is one of my favourite animated features of all time. it took a long time for them to stage it in a full broadway production, during which beauty and the beast, the lion king, aida, tarzan and the cameron mackintosh-disney venture mary poppins took to the stage. in bringing the little mermaid to the stage, the writers went back to the original development stage of the animated feature and restored some of the original ideas. well, here's the original broadway cast recording of the little mermaid. the show didn't receive good reviews but the songs speak for themselves. really good. utilising all of the songs from the original feature, the story has been expanded and new songs written to complement the old songs. this time around, eric sings, king triton, flounder and even scuttle found their voices. ursula's voice goes up a few keys. it's old, it's new, but it's entertaining. anyway, have a listen to it. i love this cd!
